Overview:
As the Russian Army was reeling in every direction from the onslaught of the Wehrmacht, their Allies were still slowly making progress along the Bug River. While the Romanians were pushing towards Odessa and reclaiming lost territory, the Hugarian Mobile Corps sped towards Nikolaev. This important city is where the River Ingul flows into the River Bug. Control of this city would trap many large Russian formations and unhinge the rapidly deteriorating Russian southern flank. The Hungarian Mobile Corps attacked towards Novoye Odessa. It was here where an infantry company from the newly deployed Italian Pasubio Division attached itself to the Hungarian 1st Motorized Brigade.
