Overview:

The opening German attack to push the Soviet defenders out of Central Stalingrad met with initial success, but stubborn pockets of resistance, fierce local counterattacks and desperately needed reinforcements ferried across the Volga under murderous fire stymied the advance. Soviet strongpoints and key strategic locations now had to be assaulted in close quarters fighting that bore witness to some of the most horrific combat of the entire war. Nowhere was this ferocity more in evidence than at the battle unfolding at Railway Station No. 1.

2024-04-07(D) Bob McKenna vs Mike Pucchio Russian winLots of Russians, kept re on forcing the station. Germans could not flank the Russians and would gain a hex or 2 of the station, then get tossed out. Germans countered 3 times and got thrown back each time. More flanking needed to hold off re-enforcements. Should have made better use of FT and DC.
2023-01-04(A) Dave Mareske vs Dennis Dowd Russian winOur second playing after reversing sides. German tanks tried to flank but were eliminated by the MOL projectors. Tough fight over the building with both sides getting kills in CC, but when the Germans made a push on Turn 3 some low rolls killed about four German squads taking the punch out of the attack. Dennis called it after loosing his second tank.
2022-12-22(D) Dave Mareske vs Dennis Dowd German winThe Germans were able to hold the part of the building on turn one and there were some bloody CCs throughout the game, but the Germans ended up with the majority of the Rail Station. They were also able to get one tank behind the Russians causing all kinds of route problems.
2022-10-01(D) David Ramsey vs Martin Barker Russian winThe Russians were able to push out the Germans from the station and I couldn’t get back in against the fanatics.
