Overview:
Operation Queen had forced the German 7th Army to commit its reserves to meet the advance of the US 2nd Armored Division. The Germans counter-attacked the outskirts of Puffendorf with King Tigers and Panthers of Kampfgruppe Bockhoff. The Shermans struggled to maneuver in the fields east of Puffendorf and no match for the medium and heavy German Panzers. After losing 19 tanks, the Americans pulled their armor back to Puffendorf to take advantage of the protection offered by the buildings. The Germans geared up and began a general assault to take Puffendorf.Attacker: German (Kampfgruppe Bockhoff & Hvy. Panzer Abteilung 506)
