Overview:
In independent theory, Iraq in 1941 was an English protectorate, a situation which led to Iraqi nationalists taking up arms in the spring of 1941. One of their initial targets was the very vulnerable Habbaniyah air base, training site for the RAF, which was quickly surrounded. The garrison defense was based on old armored cars and local auxiliaries was quickly reinforced by a meager battalion of infantry. Despite the seemingly hopeless nature of their situation, the English decided to take the initiative. They transformed training planes into attack planes with bomb launchers and a few machine guns that swooped down on the stunned Iraqis!Attacker: Iraqi (Elements de la Brigade Mecanisee)
Defender: Allies (Remnants of British RAF, 1st Battalion, King's Own Royal Regiment and 4th Assyrian Company, Arab Levies)
