Overview:

In the confusion following the 7th Panzer Division’s breakout, isolated French units still held crossings across the Meuse while the German infantry struggled to catch up. Now elements of XIV Panzergrenadier Korps, on the basis of Fieseler Storch reconnaissance, hoped to grab another bridgehead into France which appeared to be a platoon strength guard before French reinforcements could arrive. In this heavily wooded region, air reconnaissance reports were unreliable, but time was of the essence. Only French command blunders had prevented the bridges from being blown earlier. The bridges were held very lightly due to the presence of heavy reserves nearby, but even so the bridges were in the process of being wired for demolition when an audacious rush by German scout cars and a lead platoon of bicycle-mounted infantry occurred.

2023-12-17(A) Shane Pask vs French winFrench drew the 3 chit. They blew the stone bridge turn 2 before anyone could cross it. As my 9-2 approached the wooden bridge he was shot at. He easily passed the MC but his roll activated the French sniper which shot and killed him. The French tried to blow the bridge with a placed DC but it was ineffective. So my 2 AC buttoned up and drove over for 10 easy VP. Then the MA of one malfed and disabled. Then the other AC's CMG malfed and it was taken out in CC = 0 VP. Half of my remaining troops were broken and when they did not rally turn 7 it was all over as even with no opposition they were out of range.

2021-12-28(D) Dan Best vs James Treu French winWinter Camp 2021
2021-10-27(D) Kevin Duval vs Dwayne Duval French winFrench blew the bridge (3 spans) which eliminated half the German OB. Then concentrated, murderous fire vs poor buggers trying to cross the only bridge left. Ended Turn 3 with not enough Germans left to fulfill VC.
2021-03-19(A) Vilis Pavulans vs Kai Glanz German winIt felt as if though the scenario is more or less decided depending on if the french manage to blow the bridges, or the right bridge depending on which way the germans take. In this game, the french missed the TCs and then the DC was a dud. A german win despite a completely irresponsible waste of one of the AFVs getting to close to the other DC and suffering for it.
