Overview:
"Trapped" - On 8 April 1944, the forces of the 4th Ukrainian Front commanded by General Tolbukhin began the offensive to liberate Crimea. The defense held out for two days before a breakthrough in the Sivatch lagoon sector enabled the 19th Tank Corps and motorized detachments to be launched forward. The corps has been reinforced with highly mobile motorcycling units even if they lack firepower. A deadly race begins with the German-Romanian troops fleeing towards the relative shelter of the fortress of Sebastopol. Most of them move on foot or on horseback and are sometimes further from their destination than the Soviet vanguards. On April 13, a detachment of the 19th Corps thus trapped a regiment of the 19th Romanian Division near the town of Novo Kerlut.Attacker: Russian (Elements 19th Tank Corps)
