Overview:
The Royal Berkshire Regiment, in its push through the Kabwet area of Burma, had isolated a large force of Japanese from the 15th Army against the Irrawaddy River. Determined to finish off this pocket, the Royal Berkshire Regiment attacked after a heavy bombardment. The plan was to attack in the south first, followed by a reinforced attack in the north.
