Overview:
After Brigadier J. M. Calvert’s 77th Indian Infantry Brigade had successfully blockaded the railway leading out of Mawlu, combat between the Chindit and Japanese forces intensified. In order to expand the Allied area of control, Calvert launched an attack on Mawlu itself, which was held by Japanese troops in company strength. The plan called for a frontal assault by troops of the 3/6th Gurkha Rifles while a column of the 1st Lancashire Fusiliers cut off the Japanese path of retreat.Attacker: Gurkha (3/6th Gurkha Rifles, 77th Infantry Brigade)
Defender: Japanese (113th and 114th Regiments, 15th Infantry Division)

2021-07-31 | (A) Dan Best | vs | Dave Mareske | Gurkha win | Steady advance by the Gurkhas closed on the victory locations. The final CC action went in favor of the Gurkhas. Fun infantry battle.
2020-06-07 | (A) Rich Weiley | vs | Dave Wallace | Gurkha win | Gurkha's were too strong. I had one Gurkha half squad which in the space of one and a half game turns generated an 8-1 and 8-0 leader and a hero while killing a squad and a half of Japanese defenders in CC. If the Japanese can't stall the Gurkha approach march in some way they will be in trouble.
