Lead elements of the central German column moving toward Askim were ambushed when they dismounted to clear a roadblock at the Glåma Bridge. They took positions on the mountainside overlooking the western shore and searched for options to cross the river. The day was spent in an almost continuous firefight while the Germans made probing attacks at the railroad bridge at Langenes as well.
Attacker: German (Elements of 2nd Battalion, 362nd Regiment)
Defender: Norwegian (Improvised Infantry units from Artillery Regiment 1)
