Overview:
The 2nd Armored Division’s breakthrough was a complete success. They had busted into the German rear and set up positions at nearly every crossroad and village, effectively sealing the German 84th Corps in a pocket. The Germans had realized their bleak position and were already trying to disengage, ordering most units to start movement to the southeast. They moved down the roads in columns and began running into the 2nd Armored Division roadblocks.
