Overview:
The Waffen SS infiltrated the Ham Forest, and managed to encircle Watten, which fell on the 25th after a violent bout of fighting, both in the streets, and also for a seventy two meter high hill which offered a very good observation point. The French command made two counter-attacks on the 26th, one to retake the villages of Volkerinkove, Wulverdinghe and Watten, and the other to retake the hill.Attacker: French (Elements of 2e Batallion of 65e Regiment d'Infanterie)
