Overview:
On 7 February, 1944, after the successful conclusion of Operation Dubrovnik, Ustasha Colonel Ante Moskov issued orders for a new operation. The operation started on February 8th at 5 a.m. with NDH troops attacking a battalion from the Zagorje Partisan Detachment in the village of Osijek. The surprised battalion quickly withdrew in disarray, but managed to avoid heavy losses. Throughout the day, NDH troops encountered stiff resistance from Kalnik Partisan Detachment in the area of the Gradec position (Hill 368) and the hamlet of Brezanci.Attacker: Croatian (1st Regiment, Poglavnik Bodyguard Brigade)
