Overview:

The Japanese thrust into Burma was picking up steam. After bursting through at Moulmein, the Japanese sped to seize bridges across the Sittang River. British commanders struggled to evacuate their bridgehead in the face of an unrelenting enemy. On 22 February, the previously lightly engaged 415th Regiment’s 1st Battalion approached the town of Sittang and its important, but narrow bridge. The Japanese commander decided to attack immediately before the bulk of the regiment moved up. As the first company struck west along the outskirts of town, one of its platoons, with attached engineers whose job it was to prevent the bridge from being destroyed, ran into British armored cars and carriers.
Attacker: Japanese (Elements 1st Btn, 415th Infantry Regt., 33rd Division)
Defender: British (Indian) (Elements 4/12 Frontier Rifles, 17th Indian Division & 2nd Burma Frontier Force)

2023-12-20(A) Richard Jenulis vs Tycho Granville Japanese winA mild breeze blowing in the Japanese faces that turned into heavy winds and gusts put an end to the Japanese dreams of smoke. Still, the first half of the game saw the Japanese slice through the British without taking a single loss. Then the Japanese got cocky with a Banzai charge through a well placed fire-lane that took out a leader and two engineer squads. Last turn saw a lone CX British HS with a LMG trying to stop the Japanese (who had just enough points to exit) put one last fire-lane down. This time there were no miracle DR2 & DR3 shots. A nail biter at the end.
2023-06-03(D) Rich Weiley vs Andy Rogers Japanese winJunoBear 2023
2023-06-03(D) Mark McG vs Eric Topp Japanese winAs a scenario, I think this is exceptional. Japanese have plenty of strength, but have to push forward quickly. Indians have mix of troops and a selection of MG carrying vehicles, and have to conduct a fall back defense to delay the Japanese. It produces a tense scenario with a lot of action and choices.
2011-11-06(D) Martí Cabré vs Miquel Mendoza British (Indian) winBrits have very few units but they can pull back steady holding the line. The vehicles can keep the streets clear and even overrun. In our case the Jap DC Hero was killed and the Japs made one turn short of the exit hexes.
(A) Jim Thompson vs Vince Lewonski British (Indian) win[Imported from ROAR]
