Overview:

On 31st July, in order to take Gandesa, Modesto constituted Group Center which included elements of the 16th and 35th Divisions, the XIth, XIIIth and XVth International Brigades, 2 tank squadrons and 2 armored car squadrons. Two days of bitter fighting saw the Washington Lincoln Battalion take Hill 481, while the British under Sam Wild showed their gallantry. Under a terrible heat, a rain of shells and Messerschmitts strafing everything in sight, signaled the beginning of the Nationalist counterattack. . .

2023-12-30(A) Jobbo Fett vs JobboFett Spanish Republicans winThings went very well for the attacker, scoring critical hits with their guns, and generally being successful with mortars and long range weaponry. However, every time they got close to any of the defenders, forcefully crossing open ground, led to many fast, ugly losses. By the end of turn 3 the defenders had some some 5 different shots that turned into KIAs, severely depleting the ability to push on until the end. Alpine hills make this scenario less enjoyable, I find. Still, fun and worth playing at least once. Dont forget the SCW PDF that accompanies scenarios in this mag/pack
