Overview:

Following the successful ambush the previous day, where the 2/30th had wiped out several hundred Japanese troops almost without loss, Gen. Bennett decided to follow up the success. D Company, commanded by Captain W.S. Melville, was ordered to advance and occupy a small hill near the Gemenach River to block the enemy reinforcements. However, the Jap build-up had been faster than anticipated, and enemy troops were already occupying the Aussies' start line. But it was too late to call off the attack. . . .A true classic. Australian troops launch one of the few attacking actions during the retreat to Singapore. Supported by artillery, the Australians must attack across two boards to cross a road. The Japanese get support in the form of tanks and fighter-bombers.

2019-10-07(D) Jeff B vs David Murray Australian win3.75 hrsAussies made a hard push on the north edge and my two hidden HS there failed to account for themselves (and eventually died for FtR). I didn't help my cause any by deciding to lay a FL down the wrong hexgrain. I closed my net as best I could, but my key man in the west (MMG crew) promptly broke their gun and fell to the Aussie assault. My tank came on just in time to park on the road just before the Aussies could cross, but I made another mistake by parking ADJ to the P6 hut, allowing them to move in for the kill in CC. With my plane nowhere in sight (it wouldn't come on until the very last turn), my only hope were my elite reinforcements. But they were not enough to prevent the Aussies from getting a major foothold on the west side of the road. At the end they had 14VP comfortably situated in concealment terrain and my last ditch charge proved futile. A bit too small and dicey for me.
2018-06-17(D) Tom Kearney vs Lindsey Murillo Japanese winEarly war Malaya linked scenario campaign.
2015-12-04(D) Richard Carter vs Laurent Tinture Japanese wingreat game. tense game to the very end. My Ha-Go saved the day on the Aussie's final movement phase.
2010-06-13(A) Peter Palmer vs Adam Lunney Japanese winJunoBear 2010
2009-06-17(A) Dan Owsen vs Andrew Lewis Japanese winGreat scenario. I wasn't able to get my OBA to come down and got stopped right at the road. Also had at least 3 fate results (12s) on rally/MC attempts. Andrew played a good defense too.
