2022-12-17(D) Mark Thompson vs Chip W (Russians) Russian winThe Russians quickly knocked out the 251/2 in an overwatch position on Level 2 cliff hex after taking a few nicks from its fire and the HIP'd 75 AT Gun malf'd after one productive shot and saw its crew KIA'd shortly thereafter. With these impediments removed, their tanks expertly swarmed the Pzkw IVs, and the Germans conceded when the 9-2/4-6-8 blocking advance to the bridge and north VC building failed NMCs. The Russians seemed to have given burnt offerings to the producer, earning several critical hits in the game, but their attack plan was strong and well executed. Fun "race to the objective" combined arms scenario, with several options for defenders and attackers. The germans in this case might have been better served with the AT Gun in the hill/cliff overwatch position (with boresighting in likely tank ingress areas) with the thin-skinned SP251/2 in better cover to interdict later Russian moves.
