Overview:

The British, Australian, New Zealand, and Greek troops of “W Force” were retreating down the Balkans, slowing the Germans at every pass and strongpoint, heading toward a “mini-Dunkirk” evacuation on southern Greece. But an important bridge ahead was taken by German glidermen who wanted to keep the bridge intact for use by their armored forces. For some inexplicable reason, the glider troops stripped the explosives from underneath the bridge and piled them on the bridge itself. During a counterattack by W Force, the explosives went off and destroyed the bridge. In the smoke of the ruined bridge, JU-52s began dropping two battalions of fallschirmjagers into the fight.

2024-11-16(D) Seumas Hoskins vs Klara German winOne of the AAs jammed first turn and then destroyed on the repair. I suffered several other box car rolls resulting in a few casualty reductions and both LMGs jamming. Germans came from 3 points to eventually close into melee with the last remaining gun with overwhelming odds to take the win.
2024-11-14(D) Mark Peak vs Dan Leader Allied winSet up in the middle grain against my better judgement, but it worked out well. I rolled very well and Dan did not and it's very tough to cross that open ground or grain against the AA guns acting like machine guns.
2024-09-07(A) Enrico Croce vs Enrico CroceD Allied win2.5 hrsI was convinced that the scenario was quite easy for the Germans, but perhaps the placement counts more than anything else.
The AA placed in the central grain field, supported by the squads in the surrounding woods proved to be a tough nut for the Germans. When the game ends there are still unresolved melees in the hexes of two AA guns, so victory goes to the Allies.
